CASE PRESENTED:
We were invited by an authorized Little David® distributor to visit an internet fulfillment center located in Pennsylvania who was interested in increasing throughput and eliminating box jams. The facility was shipping in the range of 600 to 6,000 random size boxes per day.
Their existing competitor taper was running at 80 fpm. Due to the infeed design of the taper, it would often jam causing severe bottlenecks in the packaging line. The company needed to have an experienced operator running the finicky machine to decrease the incidents of it jamming. The frequent jams and the slow speed caused shipping deadline challenges.
RESULTS:
Within minutes of the onsite demonstration, it was obvious the LDX-RTB with High Speed Option (155 fpm) would solve their challenges. The manager asked to keep the LDX-RTB on site for a few days and Loveshaw agreed. Multiple operators noted no issues with the machine and were amazed by “how fast and smooth the RTB runs.”
