CASE PRESENTED:
An authorized Little David® distributor, CRS Data Solutions, located in the Pacific Northwest visited the M/V Excellence. They had recently gutted their two factory floors and replaced or rebuilt much of their equipment, so our distributor went to check in on the LDXss they had purchased from Loveshaw in 2014.
Much like its name, the M/V Excellence strives for excellence in seafood processing. At Sea Processors send complete communities to sea to catch, process, and pack seafood. The vessel measures approximately the size of a football field and employs a crew of ranging from 115 to 147 individuals depending on the seasons and fisheries. The M/V Excellence freezer capacity is 1,700 metric tons of finished product! When the vessel is at sea, typically 3-4 months at a time, packaging equipment is used 24/7 and it cannot fail.
Considering the harsh wet environment, our distributor noted the Little David® case sealer was in very good shape.
Sure, some wear parts had been replaced over the years but the overall machine was still running great and did not need to be replaced.
RESULTS:
A new LDXss RTE was not purchased. There was no need for a new machine! The only item the customer requested was two additional cartridges so the machine could literally run all the time, not even stopping for tape changeover.
