RFID Here We Come: Loveshaw Provides Simple RFID Upgrade Path

South Canaan, Pa., July 27, 2005 - Loveshaw®, the industry's leading manufacturer of packaging and coding systems, now offers customers a seamless upgrade path from bar code to RFID. Loveshaw's Little David LS-800 automatic print-and-apply labelers incorporate all necessary mounting holes and electronic connections to make it easy to swap existing print engines with Zebra Technologies' new RFID-Ready 110PAX4 print engine.

Using just an Allen key and Philips-head screwdriver, Loveshaw customers can quickly and easily replace their existing printer with the new model printer. Depending on the old printer model, a software change in the label controller may also be required, but instructions are detailed in Loveshaw's manual. For customers replacing a non-Zebra printer, a new signal cable is also required.

By designing its labelers to be compatible with Zebra's new model print engines, Loveshaw offers customers a cost-effective and seamless migration path that will mirror their own implementation timeline to add RFID capabilities. In addition to being RFID adaptable, Loveshaw's Little David LS-800 models offer a dual frame design to eliminate web drift, a balanced feed system to ensure consistent label tension, and unique air controls to synchronize vacuum and air-assist for more precise label placement.
